Here at IEWO we have experienced Education Welfare Officers, to assist school staff to address poor school attendance and ensure the best possible outcome, not only for school, but also for the children and families concerned.

Our Education Welfare Officers have been working with children, young people and their families for many years.
Primary roles have largely comprised one of ensuring children and their families engage with family support and education.

With over 20 years experience, we have become, and remain, well respected in schools and by families, with a proven track record of engaging young people and parents to ensure regular school attendance.

We are experienced professionals whose knowledge of the local area, schools and families combine to make a valuable asset to schools.

Please allow me to introduce myself. I am Hazel Davies, Education Welfare Officer and Director of Independent Education Welfare Officers.

I am a fully experienced and proficient Education Welfare Officer, having worked in Middlesbrough Local Authority Education Welfare Service for 15 years and as an independent company, working in several Primary and Secondary schools and Pupil Referral Units, since 2013, while still working in tandem with the Local Authorities regarding any legal proceedings and Statutory input.
